Taylor Swift is all about love, and The Darkness’ front man, Justin Hawkins, has the proof. After a viral clip surfaced of the 34-year-old pop star and Travis Kelce enthusiastically singing along to the band’s 2003 hit “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” at the U.S. Open on September 8, Hawkins took to TikTok to share a recent memorable experience he had at Swift’s Eras Tour in Zurich.

In the video, Hawkins praised the exceptional hospitality he received at the concert, showing photos of him and his family enjoying the show. “I had Chris Rock on one side and Roger Federer on the other,” he shared.

But what really stood out was a handwritten letter from Swift that was waiting for him backstage in the VIP tent. “What a thrill to have you at the show!” she wrote. “I’m a huge fan and believe ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’ is one of the greatest songs of all time. I hope you and your family enjoy the show! Thanks so much for coming!”

Reflecting on the surprise, Hawkins said, “I was just Dad of the Year, maybe Dad of the Century, because it was all a big surprise for my family.” He added how heartwarming it was to see Swift and Kelce dancing to his song at the U.S. Open, saying, “It was such a lovely moment for me, and my daughter can’t wait to tell her friends at school.”

Swift’s appearance at the U.S. Open became one of the weekend’s highlights, as she cheered alongside Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, and Brittany Mahomes. Their presence set social media ablaze, with fans sharing videos of the group enjoying the event in Queens, NYC. However, one picture — of Swift hugging Brittany Mahomes — stirred controversy among some fans due to Mahomes’ alleged political affiliations.

In 2024, Swift has become a familiar face at sports events, although she’s usually there to support Kelce on the field. Recently, she attended the Kansas City Chiefs’ season opener against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5, taking a break from her global Eras Tour to see the Chiefs claim a 27-20 victory.
