Widespread concern is spreading across social media following reports of the disappearance of anonymous whistleblower PIDOM Nigeria, as investigative journalist David Hundeyin has sounded the alarm about the situation.

David Hundeyin has voiced suspicions of foul play regarding the disappearance of PIDOMNIGERIA, sharing his concerns on PIDOM’s X.com account. Hundeyin alleges that Nigerian authorities may be involved in the incident.
Pro-democracy advocate Omoyele Sowore has also spoken out, demanding the immediate release of PIDOMNIGERIA. On Friday, Sowore posted on X.com, expressing his distress over the reported abduction and secret detention of the whistleblower and undercover journalist. He linked the incident to forces connected with the current regime, warning that PIDOMNIGERIA could be in danger if immediate action isn’t taken.
Sowore called for the release of PIDOMNIGERIA and all protesters against bad governance who are unlawfully detained across Nigeria.
In an article titled ‘SOS Alert: PIDOM NIGERIA Is Missing (And I Think We May Know Who Has Him),’ Hundeyin detailed the disturbing sequence of events that led to his discovery. According to Hundeyin, a routine check of direct messages from PIDOMNIGERIA revealed a message, purportedly from a close associate, stating that PIDOMNIGERIA was arrested on August 5 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and later transferred to the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja, where he is reportedly under the control of the National Cybercrime Centre.
