The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun distributing sensitive materials to various local government areas in Edo State ahead of the governorship election scheduled for Saturday. The process, taking place at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) premises along Ring Road, is being supervised by party agents. Several commercial buses hired by INEC were spotted ready to transport the materials.

Out of the 2,629,025 registered voters, 85.57% have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), while 14.43% (379,245 PVCs) remain uncollected. INEC National Commissioner, Mr. Sam Olumekun, highlighted these figures, emphasizing the preparations made to ensure voter participation despite the recent tension in the state.
